Nolan’s path into massage therapy began long before he entered massage school. He has spent years navigating his own experiences with chronic pain and movement limitations. With his search for lasting healing, he became fascinated by the body’s incredible capacity to adapt, recover, and thrive when given the right support.

He completed his massage therapy training at Truckee Meadows Community College here in Reno, Nevada.  This education helped him develop a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic bodywork. What drew him most to the profession was the opportunity to help others feel more comfortable, capable, and connected within their own bodies. While also supporting his own body through continuous movement.

Nolan’s approach to massage is both specific and grounding. He enjoys working with clients who want more than just temporary relief.  He helps them by taking time to understand patterns of tension and discomfort. This then creates a space where his clients can slow down, be present, and truly relax. His sessions often blend focused, deep, therapeutic massage with a calming touch.  This helps quiet the nervous system and bring awareness back to the body.  Given Nolan’s own personal experience of chronic pain through his diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), he brings a deep awareness of the pain others may be carrying, as well as how to navigate those challenges.

Nolan is especially interested in the relationship between pain, posture, movement, fascia, and the nervous system.  Planning ahead, he will continue studying advanced therapeutic techniques, myofascial work, and pain science.

Goals

Whether a client comes in seeking relief from chronic pain, recovery from physical stress, or simply an hour to recharge, Nolan’s goal is the same: for them to leave feeling lighter, more at ease, and more connected to themselves than when they arrived.

Outside of massage, Nolan enjoys studying human movement, breath work, nervous system regulation, and the many ways the body and mind influence one another.  You can often find him spending time at the Truckee River, or trying to coax his black cat Onyx to cuddle with him.

Nolan believes healing is rarely about forcing change.  It is more often about creating the right conditions for the body to do what it was designed to do.
