Mercedes was born and raised in Spain, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.  Since she was little, she felt a calling to help people in need.  Her career has taken many unexpected turns, but she has always been guided by the desire to help.

As a young woman in Barcelona, she pursued a career in the medical field and worked for several years as an x-ray technician.  When she met her now-husband almost 30 years ago, she moved to Reno to be with him and raise her family.

In the US, she worked first as a CNA at St. Mary’s Hosptial and then enrolled in and graduated from the surgical tech program at Western Nevada College.  While in this program, she experienced a back injury and decided to get a massage in the hopes of alleviating her pain naturally.  It was a life changing experience that opened her mind to the power of holistic treatment methodologies.

Not long after, she enrolled at the Ralston School of Massage and dedicated the next 11 years to massage therapy.  She came to Reiki in a very personal way.  After experiencing a number of losses, she found comfort and a renewed sense of peace in Reiki.  It helped her both emotionally and physically.  After training with Teresa Aramini, she started incorporating Reiki into her massages and was able to see her clients experience similarly transformative benefits.  

Mercedes is at the point in her life now, that she wants to commit herself entirely to practicing Reiki.  Reiki has made such an impact on her life, she can’t wait to share it with you.

With her busy schedule, we are lucky to have her amazing Reiki talents available on Fridays and Saturdays in our Reno office, starting November 1, 2021.
